Swiming, walking and biking

During the winter I have mostly been exercising by taking walks or playing dance central. But not too long ago a friend of mine asked if I would like to join her going to the gym swimming, which I did. If it had not been so costly I would have spent way more time swimming than I am currently. This time I did however feel that it was worth paying for a few hours of floating, swimming and diving at one’s own accord. It was definitely one of the highlights of this months and the fact that I had a friend with me only made things better. Now in the end of the month the weather had been terrific and the last week I have once again been able to resume biking. Sadly I will not be able to longboard until they have removed all of the gravel from the streets. I also spent some time playing dance central and took a few walks trying to become calmer and less stressed. All in all I have exercised about 5 hours this month.

Snow and walking

This month I haven’t been able to be as active as I would like to have been. Due to winter vacation and visiting my grandpa I was only able to play dance central for about 2 hours. I have however taken a couple of shorter walks getting some fresh air and getting some time to think about how pretty snowflakes are and how it looks as if the whole world is sleeping during the winter. So maybe about 3 and a half hour in general.

Acticity

This month I have conducted very varied amount of activities, as mentioned before I am not a fan on jogging but due to the bad longboard/bike weather I’ve gone jogging twice this month. It is rather refreshing but I still consider it rather boring. So instead I have been playing dance central a lot, I am getting a lot better and know most of the dances rather well now. I even got a friend to play it with my and I think she liked it as much I do. I was also able to bike a bit in the beginning of the month before there was too much snow. I’ve spend about 4 hours on exercise this month.


Autumn longboarding!

For the last three weeks it had been getting colder and colder. I really enjoy autumn, but I dislike not being able to longboard nor bike for that matter. I like being able to get where I want, whenever I like without having to worry about contributing to the greenhouse effect. Therefore I had been longboarded like a madman, before the long cold Swedish winter comes. I am not looking forward to the early mornings to catch the bus going to school. If there had not been for the snow I would have biked or longboard all year around. I wish in general that more people would bike more in general, even if you during the winter realize how many that bikes during the summer and then rides the bus in the winter. All of that is great; however, there are still many whom drive to work every day when there is no need. Here in Umeå no matter where you live you can bike to the other side of town easily, there are also many good bicycle lanes and more economical than driving. If you do not work or go to school outside of Umeå there really should be no need to not drive. I do of course understand that not everyone can bike all of the time but if more people did we would not only contribute less to the greenhouse effect but many would probably become healthier from the exercise. But for now I just longboard as much I as possibly can which all in all for about a month has become somewhat 6 hours or so. I even met a hedgehog once! He/she shyly sniffed my longboard and then wobbled away, adorable! I just hope he does not get run over and return to the forest before he gets in trouble.





Dancing

It is still really fun to play dance central. It is not that I have never disliked dancing it is just that taking dance classes or such would be both expensive and demanded planning. But instead of going to dance class once in a while I can simply just decide to dance for well, however long I want to dance without being stressed or feeling pressured to preform well. Just letting lose for a while to take a brake from studying and improving both in physical endurance as well as in the game.


Twirling and some longboarding

Well, after Magda got back I took up twirling again to finish that short program we were talking about making. We now have an outline and I twirled a lot this week since I feel that I have the goal in sight and since the weather been so nice I have been able to go out and just twirl whenever I've wanted. I've longboarded for an hour or so as well so this week I think I have exercised for at least 3 hours.

 


Summer longboarding

Back to town and back to longboarding. I really miss longboarding when I am at my parents house. Since we live in the countryside there is not much asphalt to be longboarding on so I rarely even bring it with me. But now I can finally resume my longboarding. I really can not explain why it it so great since I am not making any tricks or anything just cruising. That is the thing, just cruising along the river bank is like an explosion of freedom. Like I could suddenly grow spread wings and fly. I have longboarded around 2-3 hours this week.

 

 


Dance central

I just bought Dance central and a kinect for my Xbox 360, which kind of means that I will play a video games which is about dancing. You get sweaty quickly playing this and it is really fun. After a while you just dance one song over and over again just to get all moves right. Which of course I have not yet. But it is really fun and I can not help to love the combination of video games and exercise. I made a video of me dancing to dance central, I know it looks kind of funny but I just wanted to show how it works. The second video was not made by me but it shows how the game looks.

 




Walking in the rain.

I decided to take a longer walk this week so I walked to nearby lake. The only thing was that it begun to rain just before arriving to the lake. So walking back home did not turn out as peaceful and pleasant as I had hoped. At least it made coming home much nicer, being able to change to dry clothes, drink hot chocolate and wrap yourself in a warm blanket. Well at least it turned out a good picture. It took about 1 and a half hour!


Jogging

So I was out jogging again rather early in the morning, it was nice in a way. Because I spend the summer at my parents house and we live in the country side it jogging or simply taking a walk is really nice. It is interesting that I never was able to see the beauty in the landscape around me, until now when I spend most time in town due to school. It took about 30 minutes.


Longboarding!

Finally summer!! For me longboarding is a must in the summer time, somewhat like ice-cream on a hot summer day. It comes with a sense of freedom, It is almost like there nothing but you creating the wind and the world passing by. For me longboarding always comes with a certain excitement as well. Since I got my longboard right before starting IB and moving to Umeå I always remember the first time I stood on the longboarding dreaming of the unknown future, and the excitement of what then was to come. Therefore longboarding for me is like starting a new exciting adventure every time I set my foot on my longboard. I've been longboarding for about 2-3 hours this week.


Walking of the stress

Once again walking in an attempt to get rid of stress, it works quite well actually, it is very calming and it allows me to take a brake from all the school work and simply enjoy the world outside. I've spend around one and a half hour walking this week.

 


Twirling again!

Me and Magda was out twirling for a while. Twirling will be much easier from now on, me and Magda have moved in together and it is no longer winter. Which means that now you can just go outside to twirl for a while when you feel like it. So we twirled for about 1 hour.

 

 


Taking a walk.

I've been really busy lately since I have mocks soon, I when I get stressed out the best thing for me to do is really to get out of the house and do something else and for example take a walk. So that is what I'm been doing this week. I've taken about two walks this week just trying to think about other things than studying and giving myself a brake. So a complete of about 1 hour of walking.

two quick jogs

It turned into two very short jogs instead of one longer one. I really do not jogging to much and therefore I was out for shorter periods of time. But twice, I get a bit frustrated thought because I exercise a lot during the summer practically biking or longboarding everywhere. Play rounders, badminton, and swim. While in the winter I take the bus and so I really should try to exercise more in the winter. both jogging tour tock about 15 minutes, so a total of 30 min.


Twirling.

Twirling indoor is not the easiest since you're not able to practice throws and at least I am afraid of breaking something swinging the baton around. It still works and the short program me and Magda worked on is finally coming along. I've been practicing for about 1 hour this week.


Winter Jogging

So me and Magda went out jogging for about 40 minutes or so. Magda is a quite frequent runner at least in my opinion and this was the first time as I came along. I usually find jogging very boring but it was much nicer running alongside someone so one can keep a conversation up at the same time. But all in all I do not think it is something I will end up doing often, there are other ways to exercise even if jogging is one often thought of.


Twirling practice!

After a longer brake we started to practice twirling after school again. Right now I've started doing really complicated stuff, like tossing the batong while spinning and jumps with twirls. In short, I have to do several things at the same time, which is pretty complicated. We practiced for maybe 45 minutes or so.

Twirling class IV

This time I'm really going to start to do actually hard stuff! Like tossing the baton an spinning, and a really hard ting to explain. Most of the stuff Magda have thought me earlier I've been able to learn in a week. But this! Will at least take me two! We kept at it for about an hour as usually. I've also been practicing outside for about one hour.
